St. Volodymyr, ruler of Kyivan Rus’, brought Christianity to Ukraine in 988 AD. His legacy of faith and unity inspires our parish to share the light of the Gospel and preserve our Ukrainian Catholic tradition here in Red Deer.

Our mission is simple yet profound — to know God, to love God, and to serve God. At St. Vladimir Ukrainian Catholic Parish, we proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the Byzantine Catholic tradition, fostering spiritual growth, preserving our rich Ukrainian heritage, and welcoming all who seek Christ.
Fr. Ivan Bykov was born in Ukraine and ordained a priest in 2007. Since 2024, he has served as pastor of St. Vladimir’s Parish in Red Deer, guiding the community in faith and helping preserve the traditions of the Ukrainian Catholic Church.

At St. Vladimir Ukrainian Catholic Parish, our faith is grounded in the ancient and beautiful Byzantine Rite. We celebrate the Divine Liturgy with deep reverence, honouring traditions that have shaped generations of Ukrainian Catholics.
Through prayer, sacraments, and community life, we strive to grow closer to Christ and share His love with the world.

St. Vladimir Ukrainian Catholic Parish was founded in 1984 to serve the growing Ukrainian Catholic community in Red Deer. Our church was built with the faith, dedication, and hard work of parishioners who wanted to preserve their spiritual heritage. Since our first Divine Liturgy in 1990, we have been a welcoming home for generations, celebrating the Byzantine Rite and Ukrainian traditions while growing as a vibrant, faithful community.
