After completing school, Fr. Ivan entered the Lviv Theological Seminary in Rudno. These formative years deepened his faith through theology, daily prayer, and community life with fellow seminarians. It was here he realized that true happiness comes from serving God and His people.
Fr. Ivan was ordained to the priesthood in 2007 in Stryi, Lviv region. His first assignment was in the village of Vovkiv (Peremyshliany district), where he learned the strength of pastoral ministry by walking with people in both joy and trials.
In 2021, he was called to serve in the village of Dobriany (Stryi district), continuing his pastoral journey and supporting his parishioners with faith and compassion.

By God’s Providence, in 2024 Fr. Ivan began his ministry in Canada, serving as pastor of St. Vladimir’s Parish in Red Deer, Alberta. His mission is to support the Ukrainian community and to help preserve the faith and traditions of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church far from the homeland.
Outside of pastoral work, Fr. Ivan enjoys music and sports. He plays guitar, seeing music as a form of prayer that lifts the soul to God. He also enjoys soccer, which teaches teamwork, fair play, and the importance of mutual support.

For Fr. Ivan, “The Church is one great Family, where every person is needed and valued.” His greatest joy is seeing people, regardless of age or life circumstances, discover God’s love and find peace in their hearts through the Church.
